Why Volunteer with Us?
Graeme Hall Nature Sanctuary is Barbados’ only designated Ramsar wetland and home to a stunning variety of wildlife and rare ecosystems. By volunteering, you’ll be helping to preserve one of the island’s last remaining wild spaces while gaining meaningful, hands-on experience in conservation, education, and eco-tourism.
Whether you’re a student, retiree, or nature lover, there’s a place for you at the Sanctuary.
Visitor Support
- Greet and guide guests around the Sanctuary
- Support school tours and group visits
- Answer questions and share Sanctuary highlights
Wildlife Care & Animal Feeding
- Assist the wildlife team with daily care and feeding routines
- Help with food prep for parrots, reptiles, ducks, and more
Conservation Activities
- Join habitat care and restoration efforts
- Plant native species and clean trails and walkways
- Help with wildlife monitoring and conservation tasks
Events and Program Support
- Assist with guided nature walks, special events, and public programmes.
- Help with setup, registration, and guest experience.
Volunteer Shifts & Flexibility
We offer flexible shifts — perfect for:
- Students completing community service hours
- Retirees looking to stay active and involved
- Anyone passionate about wildlife and nature
No previous experience required. Training is provided.

Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old (under 18s require parental consent)
- Passion for nature, wildlife, or conservation
- Friendly attitude and willingness to learn
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather
